Civil and mining delivery plays a vital role in the transition to more sustainable
infrastructure — we are playing our part across Western Australia.
Greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption.
Our work across civil earthworks, mining infrastructure and subdivision delivery
means we produce carbon emissions — particularly where heavy plant and long-haul
logistics are involved. We are committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions, improving energy efficiency and lowering the energy intensity of our
operations.
We report on fuel use, electricity consumption and fleet performance across our
Perth and regional operations, with targets reviewed annually as part of our
broader safety, quality and environmental management system.
Energy efficiency enhancements
We have implemented energy efficiency measures across workshops, site offices
and yard facilities — including LED lighting, motion sensor systems and
energy-saving practices to minimise waste.
Equipment performance is regularly reviewed to replace underperforming machinery
with more efficient alternatives. Where feasible, we optimise workshop and batch
plant equipment to improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions on
long-running programmes.
Renewable energy integration
Strategic investment in renewable energy is part of our long-term carbon reduction
plan. We assess feasible locations across offices and yard facilities for solar
installations, reducing reliance on grid electricity and contributing directly to
emission reductions where systems are viable.
Green fleet initiatives
We continue to assess low-emission transport and plant options as part of fleet
renewal — including hybrid and electric light vehicles where charging
infrastructure and programme requirements allow.
Ongoing fleet optimisation improves utilisation, reduces idle time and lowers
transport-related emissions across Perth metro and FIFO mobilisations to
Pilbara and Goldfields projects.
Future energy solutions
Technology is changing rapidly across civil and mining. We continue to explore
viable alternative energy options — including emerging plant technologies,
alternative fuels and process improvements aligned with our long-term goal of
reducing emissions while maintaining programme delivery.
Responsible use of resources.
We use a wide range of resources across civil and mining projects — from water
and energy to aggregates, steel and fuel — and are committed to managing them
responsibly as part of our broader environmental focus.
Guided by circular economy principles, we strive to implement efficient
practices across earthworks, drainage, sewer and road programmes — including
material reuse, controlled stockpiling, sediment management and compliant
disposal of waste streams.
